It focuses on communications, public health, firefighting, public health and medical, search and rescue, law enforcement, military, hazardous material, and business continuity. A total of 120 credit hours are needed to complete the program. The major requirements include Fundamentals of Emergency Management, Managing Natural, Man-made and Technological Disasters, Emergency Management in Practice, Emergency Management Homeland Security Exercise Design and Evaluation, Emergency Management Homeland Security Technologies, Computer Modeling for Emergency Planning and Management, Resilience, Recovery and Contingency, and Financial and Regulatory Considerations in Risk Planning. Students must also complete a practicum and capstone.
The Minor is Emergency Management provides an overview of the field. A total of 18 credit hours are necessary to complete the program. The core courses include Fundamentals of Emergency Management, Managing Natural, Man-made and Technological Disasters, First Responder and Healthcare Coordination in High Impact Disasters, Threat and Risk Assessment, Emergency Management Homeland Security Technologies, and Emergency Management Fundamentals Practicum.

Federal Work Study
The Federal Work-Study program allows students to work part-time to earn money for postsecondary education. The program is funded by the federal government.
